I was therefore wondering if you might be interested in adding some information about the University of Abertay Dundee Piping & Traditional Music Club.</div> <div>  </div> <div>      The Club was formed in 2001 and now has over 80 members. Our aim is to promote piping, drumming, traditional music and dance at the University and in the wider community. Membership is open to all and apart from students and staff, we have a large membership from Dundee and beyond. </div> <bR> <div>      The Club runs chanter classes at lunchtimes during term time for beginners and intermediates, and in addition, the Abertay University Pipe Band practices on Wednesday evenings. We also run piping society style meetings on a monthly basis, where we have a guest speaker, player or a themed evening. Our piping activity also aims to provide a 'home-from-home' for pipers who are away from their home bands whilst studying in Dundee. We are a non-competing outfit, so they can remain registered with their home bands for competition purposes.</div> <bR> <div>      The band turns our for student events, formal University functions and also charity events in the local area. Apart from piping, we run a weekly traditional music session, fiddle, guitar and ceilidh dance classes (very popular with our international students), plus we have our very own ceilidh band which travels all over the place for gigs.
