A steering committee has been enrolled and is putting together a new band in an area where piping has been flexing it's muscles lately, Carnoustie.
Towards the end of October, Scott became an active part in the Steering Committee as a way of forming a Community based Pipe Band in Carnoustie. For obvious reason, Scott will become the young Pipe Major of our new Band and continue to use and gain experience in the role.
This committee has now met and been the authors of a Constitution, setting out the band's purposes. These are to teach youngsters the benefits of being part of the Pipe Band world.
This organisation is standing on its own two feet and getting down to training, improving, recruiting and giving the Carnoustie community something to have pride in.......Its own Pipe Band.
Initial band practices were in Carmyllie Hall for a period of four weeks, but as from Wednesday 26th March the band took up residence in their fixed home practice hall at Carnoustie Panbride Church, Arbroath Road, Carnoustie.
Learner classes in Piping and Drumming began in March in Burnside Primary School and has now expanded to 35 pupils. between 7pm and 9pm.

As a way of getting the pot boiling, it was thought that a get together of a
few interested parties might be a good idea so an invitation was extended
for friends to meet at The Practical Pipers practice hall.
This was a healthy exercise as a large number turned up and a highly
successful band practice got under way. It was repeated soon after that
at the same venue, and another interesting night was enjoyed.
Below we have a few snaps during rest breaks
