(Late breaking news)
Her dad reports:
"Ashleigh competed in the George Sheriffs Invitational Piping competition last Saturday in Ontario after qualifying at Carnoustie.
She did very well in a high class field of pipers where the standard was reported as very high. Ashleigh was placed 3rd in the MSR, 4th in the Piobaireachd and 6th in the 6/8 Marches.
She was very pleased with her performances, after being first on at 1000 am in the 6/8 March and was a bit nervous. Then she was 5th on in the afternoon in the Piobaireachd and then last on for the MSR at 9.30 pm. This along with the time differences, etc made for a long day, she was very tired come the end of it.
Ashleigh really enjoyed the whole experience of competing against all of these players from America and Canada
and has made many new friends. The hospitality that was given to Ashleigh and my wife was second to none and was very much appreciated."
A bit thank you goes to The Scottish Championships for affording Asleigh the chance to qualify.
