Blairgowrie
Susan Brown has been in contact, and tells me about her grandfather, John Kellie, who was a member of the Blairgowrie, Rattray and District Pipe Band.
She goes on to tell me that he may have been instrumental in re-forming the band after the Second World War.
As you can understand, she is keen to investigate more into John Kellie and the Blairgowrie Band.

22nd March

At long last I have received a little bit of information.
Here it is:
My thanks to Murray Whyte (Blairgowrie)

Re the Blairgowrie Pipe Band.

WW2 brought a halt to the band as many members for to join the forces.  As soon as practicable
at the end of the war they were up and running once more.

They achieved a fair amount of success in various competitions and won The MacPherson Shield
at Aberfeldy 3 times.

The last Pipe Major was a Mr Kelly of Craighall.
